Our History

Valmec's multi-discipline construction services group listed on the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) - VMX.

Valmec acquired Exterran (Australia), the Australian subsidiary of Exterran (established in 1999). Today the new Valmec Services continues to provide maintenance, spare parts, and support to the oil and gas sector.

APTS (established in 2003), provides Testing, Inspection, Monitoring, and Industrial Services during the design, construction, commissioning, operations, and decommissioning phases of industry projects.

To accommodate ongoing growth on the East Coast, Valmec developed two new facilities in Brisbane and South West Queensland. The Roma expansion also represents Valmec's commitment to developing and growing its long term local content objectives in the region.

Valmec improves its market position as it enters a strategic alliance with Northern Territory's MMC Australia Pty Ltd. Utilising both company's resources, technology, and experience in the industry, the partnership aims to provide a framework to identify and facilitate upcoming projects in the region, where we can collaborate to achieve a positive business outcome.

In September 2019, Valmec was awarded certification from the Federal Safety Commissioner (FSC) under the Australian Government Building and Construction Workplace Health and Safety Accreditation Scheme. Achieving this accreditation is a testament to our industry-leading safety policies and practices underpinned by a strong HSE culture across our Group.

During June 2020, Valmec achieved 2 Million Hours Lost Time Injury (LTI) Free. In what is a significant achievement for our Group, this milestone could only be achieved by having a workforce committed to delivering our projects and service contracts with Zero harm and living our Core Value of Safety – a Value without compromise.

The Board-endorsed strategy will see Valmec build out its Asset Services division, creating a 'one-stop shop' providing a full suite of services covering design, construction, and commissioning division to having at least 50% of the order book dominated by recurring service revenues.

The acquisition of Valmec marks a milestone for Altrad’s Asia-Pacific business and will deliver a value-accretive step change in the scale and diversity of our company’s capability and service offering. The Valmec deal underscores that Australia and the broader Asia-Pacific region are a key pillar of Altrad’s global growth strategy.
