Background
The Atlas Compressor Station is located in the Western Downs Region of Queensland, approximately 30 km South-west of Wandoan.
The facility will be capable of delivering 32 TJ/d of export quality gas. The facility is required to receive wet, low-pressure gas from Senex’s gas gathering system and deliver this gas to market after compression and dehydration.
The facility is designed to be unmanned, with operation from a remote central control room in Melbourne.

Challenges
Valmec worked with an ambitious timeline from design to construction, navigating through procurement and weather delays in a remote location 20 km out from Wandoan, Queensland.
Advantage
In November 2019, Valmec successfully achieved mechanical completion on Jemena’s Atlas Gas Compressor Facility Project. Commissioning by the Jemena team immediately followed, to ensure gas could be delivered to major Queensland manufacturers, providing a major boost to the local economy.
